The head is the most significant part of the body. It has Seven vital openings – the eyes, ears, nose, mouth, and one principal opening, the crown of the head called AdhiPati Marma in Ayurveda. There are also vital energy points over the entire head that connect to the brain and the mind (including the subconscious). Ayurvedic head massage or Shiro Abhyanga relaxes and rejuvenates not only your head but your brain & soul.
Shiro means “head,” and Abhyanga means “oil massage.” Shiro Abhyanga is an ancient Ayurvedic therapy that combines the benefits of herbal oils with rhythmic massage techniques.
