Stomach Problems

As per Ayurveda, stomach is the main center to our health.  The problems or disease in stomach leads to various other problems in body. Per Ayurveda even Arthritis or join pain be root caused to stomach issues. A healthy stomach is must for healthy life. Many people consider that its just acidity or constipation but these problems if persist longer lead to other serious issues.

Stomach controls the metabolism and this metabolism is controlled through the Jathra Agni present in the stomach. Jathragni is digestive fire which is responsible for the digestion and assimilation of the food.

The name Jethra Agni comes from the Sanskrit,  Jathara meaning “abdomen” and agni meaning “fire”. It is important that Jatharagni is in balance for optimum health and this balance of Jathra Agni is good for both digestion and overall health.

The imbalance in Tridoshas disturbs the Jethargini and disturbance in Jethargni could lead this agni of 4 types.

  1. Vishama agni when vata dominates
  2. Tikshna agni, where pitta dominates.
  3. Manda agni, where kapha dominates.
  4. SamAgni when all doshas are in balance and this is healthy state.
Following problems are caused due to the agni disturbance.
  1. Acidity/Acid Reflux/GERD
  2. Gastric/ Bloating/ Burps/Flatulence
  3. Constipation and if lasts longer converts to piles.
  4. Headaches and Migraine.
  5. Increase of Toxins in body due to undigested food.
  6. Body Pains due to accumulation of Toxins.
  7. Arthritis, Cervical or other Joint Pains etc.

Hence in Ayurveda, its mentioned if person’s metabolism is healthy then overall he will be healthy. And this metabolism is controlled or directly related to jathra agni.
