Ectopic pregnancy is the leading cause of maternal death in early pregnancy. Ectopic pregnancy is defined as implantation of a fertilized egg outside the uterine cavity.
An ectopic pregnancy occurs when a fertilized egg implants and grows outside the main cavity of the uterus. An ectopic pregnancy most often occurs in a fallopian tube, which carries eggs from the ovaries to the uterus. This type of ectopic pregnancy is called a tubal pregnancy.
History of 2 Ectopic Pregnancy:
The Couple had history of 2 Ectopic pregnancies and its not a good medical condition as this type of pregnancy if grows causes lot of problem to mother and sometimes maternal deaths also.
To terminate the Ectopic pregnancy doctor had to cut one of the Ovary tubes. this saved the life of mother, but she was left with only one ovary tube and so as a precaution the couple’s existing doctor recommended the couple ” not to try pregnancy for another time” as it was clearly life threatening to mother.
In short couple was indicated that they cannot conceive naturally. They were recommended to opt for other means of pregnancy like Embryo transfer etc.
